Plan of Salvation

God's Plan: Relationship

God loves you and wants you to live an abundant life of peace and purpose. God created you to experience intimate and eternal relationship with God.

"For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16

Jesus said, "I have come that they may have life and have it to the full." John 10:10

Our Problem: Sin

Although created in the image of God, each of us has chosen to disobey God and follow our own plans and desires. The Bible calls this sin and it creates a gap that separates us from God. If not repaired, this gap would lead to eternal separation from God.

"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23

"There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death." Proverbs 14:12

God's Provision: The Cross

Jesus came as God in the flesh and dies to pay the penalty for our sins. He then rose from the dead and offers new life to all who believe. Through His life, death, and resurrection, Jesus repaired the gap separating humanity and God.

"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 6:23

"God demonstrates his own love for us in this: while we wee still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8

Our Response: Repentance

While Jesus paid the penalty for the sins of the world, only those who turn from their sin and accept his gracious gift of forgiveness may experience the new life He offers. Each person must make a conscious deliberate decision to allow Jesus to assume role of Lord in his or her life.

"Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him and he with me." Revelation 3:20

"If you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." Romans 10:9

Are you willing to receive God's gift of salvation right now?

If so, here is what you need to do:

1. Admit that you are a sinner and that you cannot do anything to save yourself

2. Believe that Jesus has paid the penalty to secure your forgiveness and offers new life to all who believe

3. Confess your sins to God and commit to turn from your sinful desires

If you are ready to take these steps, simply offer the following short prayer:

Dear Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and cannot do anything to repair the gap my sin has created. I believe that you came and paid the price to close that gap by your death and resurrection. Right now I turn away from my sinful desires and invite you to come in and be the Lord of my life. Teach me to follow you in every area of my life. In Jesus' name, Amen

Welcome to the family of God

If you prayed that prayer in all sincerity, you can know that God heard you and that you are now a child of God. But beware because the enemy Satan will try to distract you with doubt and temptations. To help protect yourself and to begin to grow in this new life, you need to do certain things.

1. Find a group of Christian believers to meet with for Bible study and worship. Tell them about your decision.

2. Begin a daily practice of spending time in personal Bible study and prayer

3. As Christ's representative in the world, seek opportunities to demonstrate selfless compassionate service to others

Also if you have made the decision to accept Jesus as your Lord today, please let us know. We want to rejoice with you and to pray for you as you begin your new life in Christ.
